Superhauler's right. Had to pull this electric motor from Texas to Red Deer. The thing had to be shipped with the shaft parallel to the trailer. Even if that made it wider than if it were loads crossways. Had papers and all to show the DOT.

throw straps over those a/c units and you have just bought em, theres is stuff on top that cant have a strap, its the way these folks have hauled em forever. and with the way the binders are to get him by, the customer would have a duck.

he doesn't have anything to learn, he had it secured just as the shipper instructs you to do at that facility, they even come out and check the securement and take pictures before you get your bills.

he did exactly as he was instructed, kona911 , as I said this battle has been fought and won before.

The securement the shipper requires does not meet regulations, notably the aggregate amount. There are no exemptions, exceptions, or special rules for the aggregate amount.

The shipper doesn't make the laws.

you clearly missed the post about the exemptions, they happen all the time. one thing to remember especially in the case of a load like this, securement is meant in the aggregate to prevent shifting forward, I think loading against the step took care of part of this.

but what do I know after 34 years, apparently nothing other than I have never gotten a ticket for securement or had a load fall off.

Preventing forward movement only reduces the amount of securement devices used (1 in first 10 feet instead of 2).

It has nothing to do with the aggregate. You're introducing a lot of confusing terms here.
