Great career choice, Wish I had a goal before I was 21. anyway, 21 can go interstates, sadly most of these retarded companies want you to be 23 and primarily 25 due to the imaginary insurance crap.

Not many under 21 y/o can say they have a CDL. use for a backup career choice.

true very true ive always wanted to drive a truck, and estes requires you to be 21 with 2 years exp preferred which means thats pretty much out of the question.

I'm not positive, but I think the Company that handles Pepsi in my area is called new bern transport. Try looking them up!

A guy posted the other day that he is in a community college CDL school and he's 19 or 20 yrs. old. I recommended he go with a household goods mover. Many household goods movers hire under 21 for intrastate work.

In North Carolina, if funds are available, Goodwill Industries will pay for CDL school.

I started with a food distribution company running teams so I was home every other night cause the trailers have to be reloaded for the next run,we deliver to fast food joints like wendys.the pay was great but too much manual labor.also you can try local trash companies.

I'm a furniture delivery boy now so I drive a box truck pretty much all day. and i was a landscaper so many labor means nothing to me but yea waste management would be something to think about but as food delivery enless theres one in fayetteville the closest is up towards raleigh. i'm in a gigantic golf community so as far as commerce and logistical stuff theres not much around.

the only problem with this i see is most everyone wants some kinda experience driving a truck, and coming straight out of school you have none really, so how would one go about this?
