This is some real good stuff fellers. Y'all have made my day. And I'll try to remember not to honk my horn while backing in tonight.
-
Depends on the situation. I've saved more than 1 mans life hitting the horn backing up in one of these. But yeah in a ts no.QuietStorm Thanks this.

To be honest I hated those things. I used a small ear piece. I charged it every night and put it on my ear every morning. never had any issues with people I was speaking to hearing me, and I could hear fantastic out of it. Today I use a flesh colored headset that goes around the rear of my head. I do this because I use my smartphone as a MP3 player to help calm me when I am outside. I have issues with sound triggers because of epilepsy. I have used them to have phone conversations with and not once has anybody I have spoken to say they could not hear me. They take some getting used to, but once you do you don't even know they are there.

I just use one of the cheap earpieces in the truck but I put it in my pocket when I get out of the truck

I got into trucking to haul those kinds of loads and still have not been assigned one. What does a driver gotta do?
-
Lmao! Years don’t make you better. There are better drivers in their first year than others that have been doing it 20 years. Some people think this way and just don’t have it in their blood but they keep doing it and as the years go by they think they are better. But in reality they still not as good as the new guy that’s only been doing it a year. Same goes for any profession. Yes for some people, years make them better but that’s the ones that picked up on it fast. So this is kinda silly thread for a new guy to be posting. The time makes it sound kinda insecure where they kinda feel deep inside that they aren’t that good.

I never got one either.
I did get to haul a load of office stuff. Desks filing cabinets chairs etc etc from the Savannah River site to White sands. It was not an 18 wheeler but dang it I lit the CB radio up about my (government) load!
Midnightrider909 Thanks this. -
Well, I have actually done it a few times. No really, seriously. The place was just crawling one time. Taking forever to get in and around. So I did that. Never said what truck I was in or anything. Just about every truck was getting help spotting. Was great, in no time I was parked and heading for that place that has hot water that sprays from the wall. Now that was a great invention.QuietStorm Thanks this.
