I've got a felony drug possession that happened 4 years ago, was nolo'ed 2 years ago, just got placed on unsupervised probation. What companies hire felons that pay decent? I've got a 2 years under my belt OTR and 9 months of yard dogging. I'm from Savannah, GA. I'm with a company now but I feel like it might not work out. I'm definitely jumping the gun too early but just in case so I can just bounce. I don't care if it's a mega carrier or not, thanks.
So I've gotta felony..

Lots do, but from my personal experience as a felon, was told 10 years by a lot of companies. Meaning they’ll take a chance on you after you’ve proven you can stay out of trouble 10 years after your conviction. I remember Schneider even telling me that back in 2008 when it had been 9 years, guy told me to come back in a year. Conway hung up the phone on me just for having a conviction after THEY called ME lol.
Good luck, maybe things have changed in the past 10 years.Another Canadian driver, Dreazz75, FlaSwampRat and 3 others Thank this. -
Try Magnum Ltd., it's a great company with good paychecks.
There's plenty more, we'll give you some more names, but I'd put Magnum Ltd at the top of the list.

There are so many different things that can be at best problematic for a felon in trucking. Time is a big one. How long has it been since the crime? How long has it been since you were released from the sentence? If you are trying to get a job going into secure areas? Can you qualify for a TWIC/Hazmat? Does carrier operate in Canada? Speaking of TWIC/Hazmat take a look at the offenses that will permanently disqualify you and the ones that have a 7-year disqualification. It is a lot. I recently spoke to a convicted sex offender who is on the Virginia Registry. Seems as if he can't get a job as an OTR driver as long as he is on that registry. Generally though, if you can travel and can get a job with a carrier that does not operate in Canada, does not have a core business servicing secure area's AND don't require TWIC/Hazmat I can see no reason for a felon to have serious trouble getting a job as a driver

Here in Arkansas we no'lo contend-re
I see a GREAT deal of people hauled into the Court. So many do not have the wherewithal to fight or defend so they toss up hands and say no contest. And accept the punishment without being convicted or taking responsibility. They cannot be prosecuted again, (double jeopardy) and the case is essentially over.
I think the Industry chooses to impose a 10 year ban as if the person was actually stood and convicted in front of the Bar at court.Another Canadian driver and ghostcookie Thank this. -
Also I wanna add I'm on first offenders and the charge is going to drop of my record next year in May.
