Although I have been tempted, I would never do that to another driver. Luckily my truck has an in-cab release and no outside release, so no-one can do it to me.
Now the quarter in the glad hand is fun harmless joke.
so let's be honest here....

Oh dear lord.. have mercy on the ####### and hide him from my .45SheepDog Thanks this.

Might well be in the minority here , and sorta "old school".....but you never , ever mess with a drivers equipment....in anyway form or fashion. A practical joke is fine...spread some fifth-wheel grease on his door handle ...that's a PRACTICAL JOKE. Messing with air lines , pulling pins etc can be something that causes lots of damage and could potentially cause the wrong person some harm / injury. LIke I said before I would rather confront that driver up-close and personal and maybe loose some skin , rather than mess with his or his bosses equipment ( who I haven't a problem with) and cause them to loose a way to make a living...skin grows back pretty quick , black-eyes aren't dangerous , and don't affect a man's livelihood....
bergy, SheepDog, FloTheWaitress and 4 others Thank this. -
I think what really happened is when they were pulling the fifth wheel release, their hand slipped off and they fell and hit their head on the ground numerous times, you know accidents do happen.

This thread was/is fun...

problem is, some of these jokers are wrapped way to tight and probably aint never had a fun day in their life.
they need a quarter in their airline just to loosen em up a bit, lol.
and concerning old school, back then you minded your business and didn't rat someone out. if ya did, you were fair game. dimedroppers were not very well liked. -
that's the guy who needs a quarter in the RED air line, remember the red not blue, the watch him try to leave the fuel island.
you can either suggest he check the airlines or wait to see if the service truck can figure it out also, but in all cases suggest checking the lines before they call a tow truckw.h.o Thanks this. -
I agree Skateboardman, we are wound much too tight these days, but, in today's world of cameras - couldn't a guy make a lot of trouble for you for touching his equipment? Even something as harmless as the quarter prank seems like it would have people trying to get you fired.
-
The one thing that these guys fail to ever think about is what happens if the landing gear gives way and the trailer tips into the truck next to it? That guy did nothing to the ####### but yet he now also has a problem.
The quarter works unless he can't tell the tires are not turning and flat spots them or worse. I have seen so many casings ruined because the driver failed to realize that one set was locked up. We had one driver do that 3 times before he was let go. I mean, it only takes a few seconds to pull ahead a little bit and get out and check to see if you are dragging. This was in the winter when they can freeze. -
I did once.
Ok I was helping him drop the trailer for our repower but technically I did pull another man's 5th wheel release.
