I totally agree that these schools should teach more. Hopefully the pending legislation will increase training to 7-9 weeks.

Wow...if you were rejected by Werner, then you should start thinking about another career.

Werner is in need of drivers right now, and they aren't turning many people down. You may be better off with trying the big companies before trying with the regional outfits, as they tend to be more meticulous.

    Good luck.

? I though the companies I mentioned were the 'big' companies? Who are the companies I should try for? This is what I have been asking since the beginning of the thread.

Well...I am in sort of the same poisition as you are...trying to get pre-hires before I start school.

This is my experience so far:

Werner, Swift, J.B. Hunt, Heartland, Stevens, U.S. express are some of the big ones...mostly slick recruiting and not trustworthy.

Covenant, Trans Am, Maverick, Garner are some of the regional companies that seem to honestly care about their drivers, and can have some better pay than the bigger companies...BUT also seem to be a bit more strict with regards to hiring, safety, and nit-picky type stuff.

Not really in the same position. I have already finished school and have found out that two of my pre-hire letters were worthless. I am not working and the CDL course was not cheap. I need a job, not a pre-hire letter. I hope you have better luck than I did.

Ah...this is why I am trying to get an answer from somebody that is better than Werner's stupid "Your Application has been Pre-Approved!" postcard they send you. :biggrin_25513:
