I was talking to a local nondriver in Denver, he asked me about drug testing in this industry,
he had a prescription for pot, even though it's legal there. The reason for the prescription was that he didn't pay any tax on his legal pot.
He was a good guy and said that he didn't want a CDL,

Hope what you said is true. Keep in mind all applications ask if you failed a drug test. You will have to answer yes if you dont want to lie. Some applications also ask if you give your previois companies permission to request drug test results.

    From DOT.GOV

As an employer what records do I release to other employers: You must provide all the information in your possession concerning employee’s DOT drug & alcohol tests that occurred in the two years (or three years for FMCSA covered employees) preceding the request.* This includes information you received from a former employer. Note: If you provide information about an employee’s DOT drug & alcohol tests obtained from a former employer dating back more than two (or three) years, this is not a violation of DOT regulations or DOT agency rules.

I don't know a thing about hair testing. So I guess I am reading here and learning, but where I am at the pot business are popping up like crazy. I just never considered working at them for fear of coming up with a bad UA or hair test some where down the line. I have a job, not a user, and not really interested but they are jobs. Could you be in that growing warehouse or work in processing for a few months and then test positive when you move on to another job? I don't know and I would not take a chance in this day and age.
