Made it onto the nation's highways in the last 5 years.

Biden Handed Out CDLs Like Candy... Now US Highways Are A Public Safety & National Security Nightmare | ZeroHedge

    From the article:

ATU's research found a tipping point in this issue that took place in 2021, when under the advisement of the American Trucking Association, the Biden Administration announced a 'Trucking Action Plan' that was initially sold to build on an older lie about a shortage of truck drivers by bringing more groups into trucking - veterans, women, and minorities, but eventually this plan evolved to a nearly exclusive, though barely stated, focus on bringing 'refugees' into trucking in an update from 2023.

No surprise. Based on Musk’s interview on Joe Rogan’s podcast, millions were made by those involved in these NGO initiatives. The Biden administration has done long-term harm to this country we’ve yet to see the full effects of.

Pretty much just confirms what most of us knew. They esentially gave a CDL to many who likely had very limited if any driving experince, gave them little/no training and said here is a licnese to drive esentially a building on wheels that can go 70+ mph, GLHF! And then were shocked at what we are seeing now. Combine that with cellphones and this entitled "driving is a right" crowd....

Well see the accident section. Nough said

Hmm......i missed the weekend ritual of blaming immigrants for the "decline of the industry" narrative.

Ok......so........first off, no president has never handed out the CDLs. None of them were certified testers. Every DMV, company that does their own schooling, or any other certified tester handed out CDLs like candy. That is nothing new. Hell I got my CDL like it was candy lol. It's not hard to get a CDL. YOU GO TO TRUCKING SCHOOL FOR 3 WEEKS!!!!!!! That's been going on since forever!

Also, the Austin, TX accident.......we don't know that the driver was incapable of speaking English. Reputable news outlets, unlike the one posted in this article, never reported whether he spoke English or not. The idiot that wrote this article is just blogging and passing a narrative, riling up any trucker that has some level of prejudice in them. OP you had to find this article in the backwoods of the internet for real.

Even if you eliminate foreign truckers, you still have a lot of safety issues to fix, you know, like distracted driving, minimal training, speeding, drowsy driving, too much reliance on GPS, I could go on and on.

I don't know why folks don't look at the real roots of these problems. The previous administration didn't have to change anything.....it was already too easy to get a CDL long before that administration took office. The only real change was the expansion of paid CDL schooling for 18 year olds, which companies were enticed to take part in that program. To my knowledge, only 1 company in Ohio went for that opportunity, and the owner still couldn't get hardly any 18 year olds to come get the training and work for that company's what are we talking about?

Yep, I just had to wait 1 hour for one of them to figure out how to get his truck straight in the door, so I could get into mine.
He was blocking 3 #### doors and just kept going back to being crooked every attempt!

    Studebaker Hawk Thanks this.

And here I am wanting to get back in a truck but because of a decision not to take a breath test which if I knew better at the time just would have taken the test. Nothing DOT or job related. Now I have to wait until enough time passes for a company to "possibly" consider giving me another chance. It ####### sucks!!!

Why thank you!!!! I appreciate that introduction. As far as a unique perspective, see post #5. You know I can't resist an opportunity to add a little depth to the dialogue.
