Got time read this article from back in 2008.

What do you make of the Hispanic driver who got ticketed. Sounds to me like he knew basic English for the job but still got a ticket because of his accent.

Read the entire article, there’s a couple inconvenient tidbits in there :)

He didn't get ticketed for being unable to speak English. He got ticketed because the officer was being a racist prick. The driver, unfortunately, was in the wrong part of the country at the wrong time. Profiling at its finest. Dude has been a driver for 20 years, and he's a legal immigrant!!!! Shocking!!!! Lol. If he could speak English at a 3rd grade level, is that not considered basic English? It's like, if someone has an accent, they're automatically assumed to be unable to speak English. Then look at how few states offer English only tests lol. Hell W wanted to make it easier for trucks to enter the US from Mexico anyway.....Transmontes Transportation and Trans Maquila are Mexican based if I'm not mistaken so it looks like he succeeded lol

You read the entire article and noticed the tidbits :)

Couple that with the history of nafta and it all starts to make sense.

The issue is not and has never really been with the H-2b visas. One of the problems now is the abuse of the B1/B2 visas. Probably 20% of the truck I see running through here have both Texas and Mexican plates on the tractors. Mexican plates or Lease trailers with Maine plates on them. There are companies that get Mexican drivers to get these visas and then they run point to point in the U.S. Many of these are Mexican companies but there are American companies that do it too. It violates the Cabotage laws but nobody will ever try to enforce them.

It’s much worse in Canada where immigrants fresh off the boat get their license overnight. There are people with signing authority of the same nationality who basically sell the CDL…
The carnage on our highways is created by people who are driving semis who have never driven before and the magnitude of stupid knows no bounds. As well when they cannot read the Kings English they soon find themselves travelling in opposing lane on divided highway,,its so common now.The govt wont address the situation..they just blah blah about more safety inspections. All first responders know who causes the carnage as its glaringly obvious

I agree, the president doesn't hand out CDL. But if you follow bonehead truckers on YouTube, there's a chilling clip at the scene of the Austin accident. A man on the scene confronts the driver. The driver doesn't understand anything the guy is telling him. Look it up

Furthermore, it was said he was intoxicated. Turned out he wasn't. People from those sort of cultures usually don't imbibe, which I predicted. He killed 5 people without any help.

All I know is that the ATA should be burned to the ground like all lobbying groups for one.

Second, the megas are paying new drivers less cpm than they were around 2020.

Third, every single ####ing time I take a truck over lookout pass during daylight hours some stupid ####ing moron is spun out in a clapped out white volvo with no chains in a snow storm. They have the same deer in the headlights look and they are always running for some scummy 1099 carrier. If I'm stopped to chain up, it never fails that someone will come up from their god forsaken #### box white volvo and shove their phone in my face with google translate asking what the #### is going on.

This is for everyone too. It isn't race. It's foreigners. It's BC plates with magic carpets in their windshield. It's pasty white Boris from some cyrillic jabbering dunghole country where 100 USD pays a months rent. It's Nmbuhuti from some mud village in Africa that had never seen a tire chain before in his life.

Globalism is a scam. It's a race to the lowest common denominator. The vast majority of Earth is in a state of abject poverty. Low population first world countries can't compete with billions of people willing to work solely just to avoid living in some warlords slave village.

Deregulation was a #### you to the trucking industry because the mafia and the teamsters nearly took over the US fed.gov. They've been ####ting on the trucking world for 40 ####ing years for messing with their power and influence. They'd rather see 500,000 American citizens die a year in massive tractor trailer pile ups caused by people that can't read a stop sign than fix the god #### mess they made for us.

The only way to win the game is to not play it. Trucking has been circling the drain for 40+ years now. It's only going to get worse. I can't wait for the self driving trucks to finally give this industry the bullet to the brain "ole yeller" treatment it needs.

Just reading your message. I was pissed off about the whole situation so I just refused. Of course in hindsight I should have but we are far past that now.
