If you are off duty and not working anywhere, you don't have to log. When you start with the new company, they will want the previous 7 days history when you complete the application.
-
Now that was a fast reply!!!
Makes sense too!!! Would I use my old employers logs, or my new?
-
Use your previous employers logs
-
Jeez!!! You two are quick!!! Thanks for the info and replies

-
Not to be argumentative but I would think use the new employer's log, one page for the whole 7 days
-
I thought that you had to keep the last 30 days in your book. But I could be wrong. We'll see if Logrus sees this and replies.
-
From what I understand you are only required to show the last 7 days
-
You are only required to keep in your possession the prior 7 days. There are 30 days in the logbook, but you don't have to keep them. The exception to this requirement is when you go to Canada. You must have 14 days previous logs.
As far as the new employer or old employer log sheets, technically neither are required. When you start at the new employer and have been off for the last 7 days, you can fill out the information in the application which is sufficient. In the event that you have not been off the previous 7 days, you must provide a copy of the log in your possession that would be for the previous employer. -
Thanks Roadmedic, it must have been just a rule at my hubbys last employer. I know that they required him to have the last 30 days in his truck. Why, I have no clue.
