I like not having to supervise people anymore, while also not having anyone breathing down my neck.

i wish i could have been around in the 70's. the truck stops were way better. none of the chain crap we have today. and none of the govt bs we have today either.

i wouldn't want to be without a/c, power steer. laptop and gps and radio though.

snowwy in my old 65 pete conv. with a V-12 detroit and 5x4 trans 500 miles was about anybody could take. would never made it too retirement if trucks would have stayed like that. nice to look at but not very nice to drive. example get to laredo tx. 105 degrees outside you tell your buddy nice to get out of that hot truck . have a safe trip

It's been a a year and 5 months for me.

I was excited when I first started, I was so happy to be out living my dream of driving a truck. My dad was very proud of me for doing my dream Job.

Now, almost a year and a half later, I can honestly say that I am still in love with this job. I've made more money than I EVER have. Now I'm with a new company and making even more money, I'm treated as a person, not a number.

I live for trucking, I love this lifestyle. Being away from home sucks, but I'm still loving ever minute of it. I love seeing the country and being paid to do it, it might be just from a windshield, but that's good enough for me.

    I wouldn't change anything and I haven't had a dream breaker, I love everything about this job/lifestyle.

If I had to do it all over again I would, the only difference I would make is I would have started out in flatbed instead of van.

Would I do it again? Yes!!! Why?? Unlike most of the unhappy people, I don't have to be out here. I've already retired from a gov't job and I'm out here cause this is what I want to do!!! Do some days suck? Oh heck yea!!!! Still, my worst day out here, is better than the gov't job I had!!!

one of these days i'm going to start looking into them old trucks. cuz there sure are a lot of them driving down the highway these days. used to be all clunkers but some of you guys have really outdone yourselves in making them old beaters look better then todays trucks. starting to see a lot of nice looking oldies on the road.

Old semi tractors are similar to the older muscle cars. SO much more fun to drive.

After being 4 feet off the ground most of my adult life, Seen about everything a person can see, and got paid for it. Have seen things I hope no one has too. Would give to those in need. Accepted from others in my time of need. It's not a job, It's love. It's your job to make pay the way. I wouldn't change a thing. :biggrin_25520:
