Anyone been through United Truck Driving School? After my research that seems like the best fit so far.

always come to the facility to do a tour before you sign up. look at the current classroom and determine. we were glad that we signed up thru a community college near our house instead of roadmaster. the classroom was smalll (with total of 7 students) and the yard had 5 trucks with 5 old school truckers as our instructors. literally we divided into groups of two and we had so much time to do everything from backing, driving, pretrip, and etc. all of us passed in our firsr try with a almost perfect score on everything. it was great. roadmaster was packed, each instructor has with him 6 students plus, i dont even know how each one of them get to pratice anything.

Ty for talking about roadmaster, I was considering them too. I did go to uniteds "facility " if was very ghetto, for lack of a better word. It did not inspire much confidence hence the hesitation to sign up. The nearest community college has an 8 week course though and that's too long.

I wonder if I am overthinking this? How big a difference are the gi bill accredated schools anyways? If they are 160 hours at around 4 weeks i should be good right?

Yep, most companies couldn't care less if a school is accredited or not. There a few that care, but most don't.

yea 8 weeks sounds about right but totally up to you, be well prepared and trained gets easier for you out here though. less likely to get into incidents/accidents and all that. not sure of your situation but i wouldnt try to rush, do it the right way from the start

I think 4-5 weeks will suffice, if I could afford to do a more thorough one I would, cant float the bills for more than a month. I'm just worried that I'm going to this crappy school, but its visited by recruiters and if the GI Bill is accepted there they must be doing something right. Right? lol

yea if you wanted to have a shorter class, is all good. but start reading that dmv book and start taking tests now so you get at least one try per day. be even better to have it all done before your school starts
