I was thinking more of a snap on tool I saw for use with a socket.I spent a summer changing Truck tires when I was 17 yrs old. Once went on a road call. Big Tractor tire. Broke it loose with breaker, buzzed them off with air tank and small gun. Seems that would work with my Trucks Air compressor. I thought about mounting a large air tank on trailer. Filling it before doing any work. CFMs needed to run big guns is the problem. Though, I’ve seen some use a high torque 3/4 “ impact, with 1” hose. Buzzing a lug on, and ending up with proper 450 lbs torque. Maybe I’m overthinking it. But after losing 2 trailer wheels a few yrs ago. I’m a firm believer in re- checking torque. Previously over torqued, stretched lugs. Especially prone to loosening. I want to be able to check torque,on all wheels, at any given time. Don’t want to buy the one use only torque wrench, like the T/A used. Rather have something to cover other jobs like u bolts, or any high torque job. I keep all my tools with Me. Too many, Jack, 3 torque wrenches, drills.Heat of summer, You’ll see me working in the middle of the night. Trying to be quiet. Winter time, it’s down south working on it at the Truckstop. No shop at home, too cold in winter.

Carry a stout 3 or 4 foot long piece of pipe that will just fit over breaker bar handle... A cheater pipe makes taking off lug nuts much easier.
Dino soar, PE_T and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
I bought a 40-inch 3/4” breaker bar. I tested it on two drive wheel nuts. I was able to loosen one with minimal effort, but the next one was tough. The breaker bar was flexing quite a bit. I applied some 80% of my strength, and I still couldn’t loosen it. Hahaha. I’m thinking the breaker bar can still come in handy once I myself torque it to 475, no more, no less.
I’m still working on getting a Milwaukee 3/4” impact wrench. Nobody has it in stores, so I’ll need to get it online. I don’t want the 1/2” impact wrench they have in stores. My sockets and extensions are 3/4”. -
I'm going to start looking for a 600 pound torque wrench to carry with me.
I agree that it is important to torque and retorque.
When I need sockets larger than what Harbor Freight sells, I usually go to Tractor Supply Company. They usually have them in stock.PE_T Thanks this. -
I bought this torque wrench. I haven’t used it yet, but I think I won’t be disappointed. It came with a nice case. The product rating and pricing is higher than the average 3/4” torque wrenches.

Just a 40 inch breaker bar? Better call bruce banner. Howver if you put a 6 foot pipe on the breaker bar 99% of them will come loose. Occasionally you will come across one that rusted up and needs a big impact put on it.Last edited: Jan 21, 2020

Before you go out and buy one, check your local parts houses like truck pro and fleetpride.
Many years ago I picked up a s&k brand at 50% off at truck pro simply because they started carrying a competitor tool brand and needed to get all the s&k stuff out of the store.Cabinover101, Dino soar and PE_T Thank this. -
Harbor Freight has the impact tools you need and ir will pay for its self in two rotations

I just love Milwaukee battery-powered tools. The quality is legit. It’s pricey, though.
