Annular versus Total Solar Eclipse – Being in the Shadow -
Oh. It's around noon time?? I was thinking it was going to happen at midnight!
Vacationing in Colorado last month and the news ran a report that Yellowstone and the Teton mountains were going to see record amounts of people -
The first one was back in Feb 26th 1979 where there was a polar eclipse that started roughly alaska, followed the west coast to Montana-Dakotas then back up towards Greenland.
That one eclipse generated about a 40% shade and loss of some daylight where I was in Maryland that day. Enough to turn on street lights down the block.
This eclipse is important because it will cross the entire United States with a roughly 60 mile wide dot of black from Portland, across Omaha roughly, down into Paducah Ky, and out to sea past roughly charleston SC. The first time it crossed the 48 states since 1918.
I will be just about 130 miles from that dot as it passes by me roughly 1:25 PM on that monday. It will get alot darker than that simple shady day in 1979. (I remember that day like yesterday, watching the daylight go away at 10 am I think it was roughly where I was.)
For everyone under the actual dot that will pass over them, day time will go away. Stars come out. Street lights go on, birds go to the nests etc. The sun will go away and leave you with a ring of flame. Then come back relatively fast.
The next eclipse will be roughly April 2024. That one will pass directly overhead should I live that long to see it. That will be my third and last one in this life and it will cause everything to go dark, stars to come out, ring of fire etc. All of that.
The path of that particular one will be down in Baytown roughly, pass over eastern arkansas bend over towards roughly Detriot and keep going right into Ontario etc.
It will be really fast coming from south to north against the earth's rotation.tucker Thanks this. -
Hang out else where. There is a map released by NASA and SPace.com (Which will carry the eclipse live online in a safe and professional manner so we all can view it safely.
Arkansas just discovered a large batch of eclipse glasses that will not be safe so our hospitals (Around 440 of them...) are cranking up for a flood of eye burns. -
