My friend JW posted this over on Kevin Rutherford's website and I knew some here where interested in this technology.
JW has been working with me on this on where to get these panels and is the first to have these installed just in time to show at MATS.
I have been too busy moving into a 10,000 sf home and have not had a chance to install my panels to the roof of my Volvo 770.
Note: JW is using higher voltage to get back to a charge controller that will reduce the voltage (with a higher wattage) to the 12 volt batteries and truck system. Higher voltage from panels to charge controller keeps the wire size down for a long distance wire run.

So, what is the point of putting all those solar panels on the trailer? Is it only to keep the batteries up on the truck?

No mention of what the panels weigh, which may be a factor for some. I have a translucent fibreglass roof on my trailer, so those panels would make it darker inside.
I am fortunate to be one of those solar powered drivers, that is parked by evening and all night, so when I have the need for engine off power, it is dark, so what good would these panels be then? -
Maybe he would be better off installing them on his 10,000 sq ft house.
VisionLogistics, NewNashGuy, GAlanFink and 4 others Thank this. -
