Hey everybody, I have been getting a lot of soliciting phone calls from some one that claims that work for DOT but they are actually from another company.
She is trying to get to to sign up for a service that provides drug and alcohol testing to keep my DOT carrier Authority or something like that.
But I am under a state program only where I only get tested every time I renew my medical card, and Post Accident. and i dont think I am a For Hire Carrier.
Should I just tell her that I dont want their pricey program or is this some sort of a new law or regulation?
Thanks

If you are already set up with something to meet your needs, just tell her 'no thanks' and for them to stop calling you.

Yup, get ready for more calls, from helping you "expedite" your MC# to factoring, to JJ Keller publications. Its just the beginning. Just keep telling them no, and eventually they will taper off. They won't stop completely, we still get some, and its been 4 years for us, but they are not constant.

We have the same problem. My wife tells callers that she buys nothing from people who call. We also get faxes for vacations, insurance etc. We use to call/fax to have our name removed-I think the best thing to do is not reply because then they know they have a good number. They won't call anymore but will sell yours as a good one to the next company. IMHO.
I guess thats the cost of working for yourself.
