WHAAAAT? You mean just because I post that I'm doing to bash him in the head with my net book, toss his body into the canyon outside of Kanab UT and drive off, you think I need time alone? :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

As a gender non-conformant I demand to know why being a solo women is any different than being a solo male driver.

    It's the same thing...

    *stares at you*

sexual harrassment, sexual assault and rape

How often do you walk into a truck stop and have a woman try to cop a feel? How often do you walk across a truck lot and have a woman hang out of her truck and call out how she wants to "hammer" you (need I go on)

How often do you get jumped, attacked?

The problem exists and I respect the female solo drivers who have to deal with the risk alone. I have my husband.

    And there lies the difference.

There are a lot of wonderful men in trucking who treat women with respect and kindness. There are also some scummy women.

Where the danger lies is in those few men who will attack a woman. That's why it's different for a woman and a man.

Please don't get me wrong......I greatly admire and respect most men. I'm not attacking men. But I was asked why it's different for a woman.

Back when I was OTR I befriended quite a few lady drivers. Every thing from a new to trucking 25 something, ex-house wife, retired now road gypsy. Most of them in one way or another end up making the same comment: "We like talking to you because you are a friend & not trying to get in our bunks" Do guys sit around worried about making friends on the road like this? Unless you are making a delivery in Deliverance (the movie) I think not. Good luck to all the Ladies, Stay Safe Everyone!

The older I get, the less I enjoy trying to sleep while somebody else drives for up to 10 hours . . .

When I was training I was stuck with my mom for 6 weeks straight, now dont get me wrong I love my mom but... jeez! I couldnt stand teaming.

And the comment about respect to solo women drivers.. AMEN! My mom is always complaining about the looks or comments. Alot of times too its the things that are said by the people at the fuel desks or shipper. Sometimes they wont accept she is a driver for whatever reason, just sexism I guess.

I loved my mama greatly, I miss her everyday. However I would not wish to be in a truck with her. sheesh. That thought makes me cringe. Now my daughters swear they want to go on the road with me but frankly I just laugh because I think they'd kill me within a week. Maybe two days.
