I wonder why KW doesn't sell the T909 in the US? It wouldn't be too hard for them to make a left-hand-drive version. They're good looking trucks

With those big ole' clodhoppers you carry around...one would think "Ground Clearance" is always your biggest challenge. :p

Here's a video about roadtrains in Australia that I put up on YouTube a while back. My KW was smoking a bit at the start (understatement) but it will do that if you get into it before the air/fuel ratio valve has a chance to get working. Anyway, this will give you some idea of what goes on in my part of the world.
I think if you tap on the arrow top right hand corner it will take you straight to YouTube where you can watch it in high definition, otherwise you'll only see it in crap low def.

That's freakin' sweet. That's real truckin' right there. Still kind of weirds me out seeing the trucks driving on the left though.

I get the same feeling NorthernMechanic. But I also noticed that when they don't drive on the left, they drive right down the center line!:D

@Ozdriver, thanks for posting those videos. Very interesting!:yes2557:

Why not, there's no traffic! Especially at night, easier to dodge the 'roos, they've got a death wish. I've been bowling over 2 or 3 a night on the job I've been doing for the last month.

They were originally built to handle heavy loads like roadtrains and heavy haulage, that's why they've got the massive radiator and high cab. Aerodynamics came a long way down the list. But because they look good you can buy them in a lighter spec for single trailer, but I don't know how they would go in US because it seems to me the main concern is fuel economy. Also they are a very expensive truck.

Really cool video OZ. What's it like rolling through all that water. I'm sure it's all just another day at the office for you but the first time had to have been a little nerve racking.

That's nothing what I did there. Check out this video where a guy goes across a narrow causeway with 3 loaded trailers of cattle with a dirt road either side. He had to go fast to maintain momentum..
