If you don't mind working at night, you could be home everyday and weekends off with LTL linehaul.
A lot depends on which run you get; A dedicated run--between set terminals will generally get you home everyday. Extra-board (floater) might have you in a hotel once every two weeks. Maybe more, maybe less. Really depends.
Beware: Some runs involve dockwork. But these WILL have you home everyday.bentstrider83 and McUzi Thank this. -
I believe getting hired on with one of these LTL/Linehauls would work out great as long as one's near a city with plenty of hub operations. Denver, SLC, St Louis, Chicago, almost any city on the coast, all seem to have a consistent need and listings for Line-haul positions whenever I'm looking. So be prepared to move if needed.
Something I'm definitely going to have to start looking back into once everything calms back down somewhat. -

At our terminal line haul is two days out, twice a week. So home a couple days in the week and Sat-Sun off. Driving at night mostly. In some cities it is drive all night, home every day and weekends off. Not sure about the exact pay but in the mid sixties per mile. Hauling mostly doubles.
MACK E-6 Thanks this.
