My dog and I were stuck down in Edinburg TX for 4 days recently (extremely hot), we'd hang out under a shade tree next to the goat corral. I picked all the long grass I could find and hand fed it to the white goat back there lol she loved it. She'd often be sitting in her food trough and Abby and I would sneak up to the fence and the goat would finally see Abby and hop out all scared and scamper off. The best was one morning I grabbed a coffee and took Abby for a walk, we come up to the first house with dogs, they are chained up to trees 24/7 out there, well they were sleeping really deep, I could tell the dog was dreaming of running, well we got about 5 feet away from the 1st dog then I rattled Abby's leash and he woke up in a flash and was barking up a storm but wagging his tail-- I got the feeling the dog was mad at himself for being caught asleep.
Oh yeah where were we, talking out heat, lease operators pay for the fuel therefore may idle as much as they please.
I was told last May that I was going to get written up for high idle. I said ok, write me up, but while you're at it, get the write ups ready for June, July, August , and September right now, because this is Texas, it stays hot, and I won't sleep in a pool of sweat. I never got the write up.
