..... issue with what youre saying is:
If someone chooses to tell me what they have in it, that isn’t something that’s relevant to the conversation to me. I’m gonna look at it as an anchor point, not a fact of the matter. Also, I don’t give a #### what they have in it. As a carrier I’m looking for my rate, if a broker or a shipper loses money on it, that’s not my problem. I run my business & they run there’s, It’s not their problem if I lose money, and it’s not my problem if they do.
Some negotiate some don't

No offense, sir, it's just business.
All this stuff about never talking to this or that person because they did or didn't like a rate or quote, is ridiculous. -

I have to agree with the not burning the bridge.
I've had brokers that I've called on loads that had such a low price on it I really didn't want to and then ended up getting a really high rate.
Sometimes I found loads that really would go for a small amount of money but they had to go so the price really went up.
It's nothing personal.
Someone offers to do it for this much you tell them you can pay them this much and you find somewhere in between or you don't.
It's funny because for whatever reason sometimes I'll give a really high price and the broker won't want to talk to me anymore.
But if he did there very well may have been a lower price that we could have agreed on.
I never thought about it before but I guess some Brokers have a thin skin.blacklabel, clausland, PPDCT and 2 others Thank this. -

I guess that could have explained a couple of phone calls I've had?Wasted Thyme and PPDCT Thank this. -
The way I look at it is generally from @Ruthless's perspective. Neither party is really concerned with whether or not the other is making money, so long as they get what they're trying to make on the load. Besides, even if I told you what I had in it, as a broker, are you guys gonna believe me? Am I gonna believe you when you say you "need" x amount? If we both agree on a number, then that's the number that counts. Everything else, at least in terms of the business relationship for this load, is inconsequential.
