market is market. if i quoted you a rate 1000 under the market you would state i was gouging you. Even demand DOJ to investigate. Amazing double standards there.
Pretty sure Ruthless was never one of those. He's always been firmly in the camp of, "I know what rate I need, and don't give two squirts what the other guy is making on the load."
I tried that same role when i first started a business I told them brokers that I wanted $3 plus per mile no matter what and guess what, I got hung up on every time so playing hardball will get you nothing but poverty. Truckin is what it is, These brokers today give the loads to the cheapest carrier and if your not in their margin you will starve. I wish it was different but, it isn't.
that’s how people that don’t know how to run a business think. They need to know what the other guys making to know if they’re getting a good number. It’s stupid. And it shows a lack of understanding of the general principles of business. It’s good to have everybody in a business agreement make money. If they don’t, that’s really nobody else’s fault. We’re all here to make money. If you make your business decisions based on what someone else makes, that doesn’t mean you’re gonna make anything. I do what I can to add value to my customers, and brokers, on the rare Occasion that I use them. If everything was about the absolute cheapest price, no one would ever buy a Cadillac. * And not for nothing, you can find it as amusing as you want. Theres a whole bunch of us on here that are feeling quite amused at you on here crying like a ##### about getting price gouged. That’s showing your hand.
Trucking isn’t based on being the cheapest, your business is based on being the cheapest. And if your business is based on it, that’s because it’s all you have to offer.
If you quoted me that, I’d say you should have bid higher, or find your own customers instead of double brokering mediocre junk. If it’s actually yours, it can sit for all I’m concerned. I don’t want the government to do anything, because government does nothing well, and this industry is jam packed with their doings already. Some lanes I run market rates, but $1k over market happens more often than some would believe, and mostly because I requested it. Not really sure why I even bothered to reply, you sound like a douche.
THIS IS THE TRUTH. IMO more than we'd all like to admit have trucks, but have zero business mentality. They are trying to win the race to the bottom, be the cheapest, load the most, and drive the most miles. I don't believe that carriers should know what a broker has in a load, it doesn't matter. You make money and move it or it can sit. I'm 200% in favor of free market businesses. I believe I offer more then cheap rates in trucking.
