Bummer. I didn't read back far. Is that a D12? How many miles?

The original post is pretty #### close. I decided to start with a truck I could afford for cash, and I use a company trailer so that cuts into bottom line for 8%. But otherwise, the model is accurate!

I'm still in the process of buying one semi, renting it out and seeing how it goes. Not planning to drive.

Just wondering, what would you do if the truck breaks down far from home? Would you just call any nearby shop? Obviously, if you've been in the business awhile, you'll have a 'go to' shop

This sounds like a train wreck.

I personally rented a "tow it yourself" device for $250 and brought broken truck home with another truck. You can tow to a nearby shop for something not very critical, but for something serious it's better to take it to someone you know

Why do you say that? I don't want to start a business right away, so I feel I am limiting my risk.

I'm just trying to gather information about what it takes. I have a family member who drives a truck so I'm planning to ask him if I can come along. I'm kind of reluctant right now because of Coronavirus.

I would drive myself but I am disabled (balance problem because of a stroke. I need the assistance of an aid to walk). I just saw this as a way to get a little income (haven't had a job in over 10 years).

Didn't even know that was an option. Thanks!

Who is gonna go to the shop all the time or work on the truck on the weekends? Sounds like changing a light bulb or even an air filter would be a problem and you can't expect your driver to do everything for you. He is just not gonna do it.
Honestly trucking is not a good business for generating passive income.
