Wrong. Calling around possibly yes, posting a rate, not necessarily.

Why? You may have 6K for a load and carrier thinks 4K is a great rate. Or one may think 7K is.

When they get desperate they will post the numbers and you can watch it go up every hour. Or they will call you 2-5 times. I hardly ever call on loads I will just post the truck and see who wants to pay.

If you've got a customer paying good money they expect it moved.

Posting without a rate your load just blends into the other thousands of loads posted.

Best rates I've gotten 95% of the time have been people calling on my truck

I'm not going to spend all day calling on thousands of loads posted.

    Time is valuable.

You guys are in for a rude awakening one day when things turn bad out here. The brokers will never call you, and you will always have to call. The only rates posted will be the ones that are mega cheap that the broker doesnt want to take pointless calls on, that it will move if it moves. The "non rate" posts will be the only thing you can call on and it'll take sometimes dozens of calls to find something that works.

A carrier can be one truck or 10 thousand trucks.

Most of the loads we broker are to single trucks. No difference in the number of calls whether the rate is posted or not.

I think many have very short memories. And some think this will last forever.
