Id rather sleep somewhere away from them. Dont want any chance of being near them and their habit.

I had a 4 wheeler today that I stopped after I observed him approaching me on a two lane roadway. Clocked 17 over the limit. But this driver was on a left curve and ended up on the shoulder with the passenger side tires on the grass. I turned and as I was attempting to catch up with him, he had picked it up to 30 over the limit. Nearly struck a car that he ran down that was in front of him. Was on the phone, and went entirely back on the shoulder. This was at 45 mph now because the slower car in front of him slowed him up. With my lights and siren activated he never saw me, crossed the center line with the entire vehicle and the drivers side wheels hit the shoulder. Not drunk, not high. Just stupid. Put him through a series of exercises I do when I do a drug evaluations on an impaired driver. This clown was in a hurry to pick up his kid, on the phone with his girlfriend and had no clue how bad he was driving. To top it off, he did not have a license. Which probably added to his lack of driving skill. You don't have to be high or drunk to be a danger, but can be stupid. Unfortunately stupid is not a crime. All of this guys actions were though. So hopefully a judge will give him some jail time. However, there is no easy way to keep him from getting behind the wheel. He was just convicted for driving without a license last wednesday and received probation. Hopefully this will violate him and enhance his penalty.

I know some State's have implemented this. I mentioned it to some higher ups and have not heard back. Years ago I know some older Troops that did take a truck out and ride to see what they could find. Which was a lot of violations from what some old timers told me years ago.

I'm sure your ride is governed so you probably do see some sheet!

This new one is governed at 62 but I had one governed at 70 til this past Monday. And my world seems to be lived by "just when I thought I'd seen it all." :biggrin_2559:

I quit saying that years ago. Thought I had seen it all. However, it seems every day is a new adventure in stupidity.

I have never smoked pot, not one time, and I do not condone it's use at all....Well, unless my glaucoma gets worse. (just kidding) But seriously, some of you are being a tad too harsh on the OP. Yes, he does need to stay clean forever if he is in this industry, but he is trying to straighten up and improve his life. Cut him some slack, and give him a little encouragement. One poster commented that every person he knew that smoked week picked back up the habit. Maybe it is because they figured they had nothing to lose, because they where gonna get persecuted forever for it. A person shouldn't have to have the rest of their life screwed up over some errors made when younger. Especially if they take steps to correct the behavior.

I have the right to be harsh when my life is put in danger. Along with those of innocent children.
