I choose to be a productive member of society and work. In order to hold a job, I am expected to take and pass a drug test. I see no reason to not hold welfare recipients to the same standard.

Having spent 99% of my life in a small western KY town that's got way too many people living off welfare in my opinion, and having had some wilder days in this same town, I've personally used food stamps that were given to me in exchange for drugs. This one gal would come see me every month. I have no idea how she fed her kids, and looking back I feel horrible for the things I did back then. This was 25 years ago and I'm sure the same #### goes on today.

Based on Florida, it costs 178 million dollars per year to drug test welfare recipients. The ones who get caught saved $60,000 of that money. In other words, testing welfare recipients for drugs is going to cost 177 million MORE in taxes. You won't be saving any tax money. You'll be paying more.
