I saw one a while back when a woman truck driver saw the Walmart she needed to get to on the otherside of a historic bridge ( 6 ton rating) her weight 38 tons. Tells the cop I didn't know what 6 tons meant
. You're driving a truck. She didn't get that far it collapsed on the sleeper. The said part is those bridges are ruined. Soon or later they had to be replaced maybe they'll make them 50 ton rating now.

Buttttt, undisputedly, he is to receive the ### of dumbness award of the week.…..Man, you really can't fix stupid.
Many moons ago, I pulled a flat, hauling log home packages. Now, many of these log homes, understand, were built in very tough places to get into, and out of, with a rig. One time, on a hot summer day, I had a delivery deep within the NY ADK park (old forge area), far off the beaten path on a dirt one lane road. A couple of miles in, I come upon a short wooden bridge over a creek, built many years before with a posted 6 ton limit.... Nope, aint crossing that. Now, this was back in the day when cell phones were just starting out, and being that far in the outback, they probably still won't work there today. Anyhoot, I had no way to contact anyone, and I didn't know how much further in was the building site. I figured though that after awhile, the builder would happen along, as I missed my 7:00 AM appt..... Sure enough, a few hours later, they show up madder than all get out, shouting and carrying on. After their tantrum settled down a bit, they then wanted me to let them drive my rig across, nope, aint happening boys..... After more name calling and threats that they'll see me fired, I got tired of listening to their nonsense and crawled into the bunk. In the end, they unloaded the whole trailer by hand, using pick-ups to transfer it all to the jobsite. That took the rest of the day, and when empty, I had to back up until I could find a spot in the woods to jack-knife the skate board, drop it, turn around, re-hook, and head back out...
Oh yeah, when I got back to the yard, I was questioned by the boss and explained all that transpired.... Her response was that in their contract, it was their responsibilty to ensure that the rig would be able to access the jobsite, end of story.....Lepton1, stillwurkin, Intothesunset and 3 others Thank this. -
IDK, I've seen loaded hopper bottoms, and this doesn't look like one, fact is, it almost looks empty. If it was loaded, the tractor never would have made it. $800g's, I'd be on my way to Cuba. And what's so historic about it, it's not a colonial covered bridge. I think the county took down the signs hoping for a new bridge.

It took alot to have that steel fail the way it did.
They say it will be a million dollars or so for a replacement. Those old things are always good until the last drop.stillwurkin, Intothesunset and Matt1924 Thank this.
