Doesn't appear to have yet. Still seems to think downtime for maintenance, cheap freight and a short week will be a one time deal.

And then there's the freight cycle... OP still has those rose-colored glasses on.

I certainly understand that there will be ups and downs, but so far my income is far above what I'd have earned had I chose to work for one of the 'majors'. Plus, I don't have to team or ride with a trainer, and I don't have to deal with all the corporate 'big company' BS that we all just love SOOOOOO much!

So, I delivered my weekend load this morning, then d/h 50 miles to pick up a 440 mile load delivering tomorrow that pays me $343.75. That, plus the load I dropped this morning will put this week at $518.75 after delivery tomorrow morning.

Your calculating net earnings. Your take home is where it counts. Subtract your 35% and let us know.

Not so much. 44k is about average - not "far above" - and you're basing this on the high-water portion of the year. I'd say you're counting your eggs before their laid.

Oh, such negativity. So many sheeple in the world that never venture outside of their comfortable little routines, always mumbling about something that can't be done.

He found something that works for him. Why does that bother people so much? Yeah his earnings are not gonna be what he was projecting, that does not effect anyone else. He got advice about withholding and plans on doing it. He will probably be right in the ball park with a second year driver when total compensation is figured.

I would say he better be making quarterlies or their gonna twist his testicles in a vice. But if he is happy with his choice.......

    Good on ya I say.
