Schneider is that way... Wouldn't even let me change a mudflap. Now they've stopped giving out everything but a gallon of oil and gladhand seals. When I was first hired on I got wiper blades, lights, and a couple other items.

Getting off the side of the road and not needing a shop is the point.
My post about how some of us don't have babysitters comes to mind. Remember that one?
Finding problems before they become problems is key.Vilhiem Thanks this. -
At the time it happened I had 7 years of experience with pumping fuel probably adding up to 2500 times. I would not have complained if it was my fault, I take responsibility for my actions. Actually after that I started carrying a couple extra pairs of shoes.

So sad but true. They're dumbing down our industry way too much.Vilhiem Thanks this.

Exactly. Companies are afraid we'll mess up the warranty

You're right, we used to get a spare head light, trailer lights, pin puller but that stopped a few years back after the economic crash.

Heh... Unless it's a dot violation and can cause an accident... You'll get sent to a shop nearby. If it's got potential to cause an accident then they'll send someone to you.
I recently had a burst service air line. Easy fix (though I admit I didn't have the needed hose, but I know how to patch one in a pinch.), but I told the emergency maintenance folks that there was a TS about a mile up the road. Didn't mind walking to it as long as they reimbursed me for the line.
"Nope! Sit tight! Someone will be out in 2-4 hours."
Okay. I still don't get it. Your experience, your story.
Unless the pump itself is broken and has a leak in the hose or nozzle, any spillage is the fault of the one doing the pumping.
We have...differing opinions on the matter it seems. So I'll agree to disagree.
...I still say that tossing a perfectly good, washable pair of trousers was a waste though.EndHatred and marineman227 Thank this. -
Yes you could have used the pants when you change the oil or grease the drive line or..... oh.... yeah
Lol -
...if that's their logic... They clearly haven't sent anyone to investigate the Atlanta OC in some time then.
The Atlanta OC isn't far from where I pull out of. I'll always build an extra hour into my trip plan just in case I have to run by the shop...
I'm torn between bugging the shop for every little thing, or doing the repairs I know I can do myself and requesting reimbursement.EndHatred Thanks this. -
That 'wait someone will come help' is one of the reasons I stopped being a company puppet. I don't like sitting around while I could do it myself.
Different strokes for different folks I suppose.Vilhiem Thanks this.
