One more point and I am going to bed. I carried while driving way back earlier in my career. Later I determined it was not something I cared to do anymore and stopped. I do own both a firearm and a WASP knife. However, this subject is just not something that bothers me either way. I would just like for the feds to act. I will be happy either way. Maybe I am wrong to feel this way. With the way I am having to deal with my health it just loses some importance. Again I only made this post to warn drivers this happened because they need to know. This debate about firearms is larger then TTR.

    Razorwyr and tscottme Thank this.

    No problem.

    Just a note to everyone.
It's a hard subject to discuss without touching on politics. The staff understands that.
What the staff likes to avoid are the political flame wars between different sides. Those never end well.
It always starts with minor name calling, escalates into the blame game, and gathers momentum from there. Then the staff gets involved, infractions or even bannings are handed out, feelings get hurt, we lose members and nobody goes away happy.
So...we nip political statements in the bud before the brawl starts. We have a Political forum. It's largely unmoderated and you can usually yell, scream, name call, and froth at the mouth all you want.
Just don't bring that kind of behavior into the main forum.
    Thanks

Suppose that the military police didnt call the state troopers but instead dinied him access and wont hold the gun at the gate while he delivred the load, whats his next move?
Drive around looking for someone to hold his gun or hide it under a rock?

Small working point. The Constitution grants nothing. It acknowledges and guarantees rights/freedoms we possess, and would possess without them being on paper.

Your right. In fact, I am sure my HS US Government teacher might still be spinning in his grave over that remark. In my defense, I was using my smartphone and entering letters takes a lot of effort. I was keeping my comment brief.

Well most of this is wrong.

1st off, no one that isn't law enforcement is ever searching a truck and anyone who would let some random person actually do that should be smacked, repeatedly. An even law enforcement is gonna have to get a warrant to search my truck.

Flying with a firearm is not some voodoo either. You put it in a hard locking case, declare it to the desk agent when checking in and ask if once its checked in, to put it in your luggage to prevent theft at the baggage claim.

You want to know where the driver went wrong? Opening his mouth in the 1st place. If his firearm was in a locked box. Then there isn zero reason to say anything. You think if someone wanted to get on a base and start shooting people, they would declare they had a gun/guns at the gate?

Wanna know if I have a firearm in my truck? Too bad, its none of your business.

You've obviously never been to Sierra AD or a similarly secure facility. You better declare it, because they will find it. Drum isnt as strict, but if it was his first time there he wouldn't know. Also, in light of recent events in Florida, I'm sure a lot of bases have increased their security measures.

Im in total agreement on the staying quiet part. I also thought that same thing about telling them about the weapon. My point is there should be no reason to worry about telling them. This is an interstate carry issue at it's heart. If you are duly licensed to carry at home that should carry to another state.
