    I double clutched for years. I was driving 10 speeds and they seemed kinda tight.

    I been using an 18 speed for 10 years. It shifts easy, even when new. I float most of the time.

    For me I guess it depends on the tranny.

    I drive a 84 Pete, cat, 13sp and double clutching is the smoothest. I have a permanent lease truck, 04 W900, ISX 13 sp and no clutch seems smoothest. I could have something to do with the computer. I think each truck is different. Takes about a week, couple thousand miles to start to get the true feel of the a tractor.

    That's what I think about trucks too! I do what seems the smoothest when i'm driving one. Whenever I get in a truck im not familiar with I usually always start out double clutching. If I don't it looks like I have never drove a truck in my life grinding them like no other.
