STAY AWAY!!
Located in Buffalo, NY
very untrustworthy ! They put me in a defective truck on my first day. Didn't bother to make sure it's in proper working order or even clean out the inside. I brought it up to other drivers in the company and they said "oh yeah I've heard about that truck." When I brought it up to management , they told me they didn't know ... hard to believe!! Your drivers know but you don't??? I lost air brakes and power steering going 70mph down a hill and when I told dispatch to get me in a different truck asap , instead of having someone come out to fix it , they said deliver your load and drive it back to the yard 500 miles (!) and THEN we'll get you in a different truck. When I had a meeting with the managers, they fired me!
they were also very misleading with the job description about how they run. PLEASE STAY AWAY!!! By far the worst company I've been with and ive been doing this for years.

This is a new one here. How were they misleading with job description? My curiosity looms........
-
They said I'd be home every other day but I was sleeping in the truck six nights a week.mjd4277, Thrasher28 and Lonesome Thank this.
-
Did they repair the defects you found on the first day right away or did you drive it?
-
They made me drive it 500 miles before I had to take it to the shop for repairs.
-
No one can make you drive an unsafe truck. That is a choice! It is your responsibility to tell them no if the truck is unsafe to drive. If you have to walk away, then so be it.
-
That's true and I did walk away. I shouldn't have drove it back , it was the longest 500 miles of my life. What I meant to say was , instead of having someone come out to me and fix it , they said drive it back to the shop instead.
-
You shouldn't have driven the truck anywhere to begin with if you knew it had defects that would be violations if you were to get inspected. I realize that just starting with them on your first load you were in a difficult situation. But you always need to do what is necessary to protect you CDL.mjd4277, ajp201 and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

I agree with you. But I've NEVER started with a company that didn't inspect their equipment to make sure it's safe before putting a new hire in it ... I should've known better when I got in the truck and it was a mess ... I guess I was starting to get too comfortable in this career. It was humbling though , that's for sure.

Was this a 1099 or a W2 gig?
