Sony PS4 & Inverter question

150w would work for a small TV. That 300w won't work for ps4. It will supply initial power and get you to the main screen but for some reason the ps4 pulls more juice than the 3 does. I have the fat ps3 and it will work on a 300w inverter. I tried my ps4 in it and as soon as I tried starting a game, it reset the inverter.

 

any idea about a original Xbox or Xbox one?

 

I figure a regular xbox or 360 should be fine but a one might pose the same issue as a ps4. Friend of minehas a 300w and used his 360 for movies. I don't know of any problems he has had though if any.

 

I recently bought a ps4 slim it will not turn on at all in my truck. My ps3 slim works great in here. I have a tundra 1500 watt power inverter any ideas why it won't power my ps4?

 

Possibly doesn't like modified sine wave. My PS4 Pro buzzed and sometimes didn't stay on until I got a pure sine wave. The old PS4 was fine, but I imagine the slim has an upgraded psu along with the pro.

 

Oh ok best idea I think! I have been at a loss it won't power on at all but it works fine plugged into a house outlet. Thanks for the reply.

 

I have a regular ps4 and I don't know if this will work or not, but I went and bought a fancy high dollar surge protector (not the $5 specials in Walmart's bargain bin) with a high joule rating. Plugged directly into the inverter, my ps4 would power on but then shut down when trying to load up a game or movie. Plugged into the surge protector though it works fine. Fan on inverter kicks in every one in awhile, but no resetting. A surge protector designed for high end office electronics seems to do the trick, not the ones you would buy to plug in your strands of Christmas lights.

 

Already have a really nice surge protector

 

Odd. Maybe it's like Tbon said and the new slim has something the old style didn't have.
