You'll have to start another thread from a guy going to TMC that has experience under his belt.

I plan on starting a whole new thread when I get up there. Day-by-day updates, pros and cons, etc etc. I'm just nervous about being a Carolina mountain boy amongst all those cornfed midwestern boys. Other than that, I'm jumpin' up and down like a kid at Christmas time....

Don't you be nervous about a thing. Midwestern hospitality is something we're all pretty proud about. You'll fit right in I'm sure!

Alright. So I walked out on there orientation after day 1. That place is just not for me. TMC i found out stands for Trucker Marine Corps.

I'm not gonna get into all the specifics or bad mouth them but, There rules are nuts, there policies are strict as can be. They fill the room with 50 new driviers knowing they will only keep 10 or so.

So I just dont have the month to gamble on that. I left and drove from Iowa back home and started with a much more laid back my sorta place this morning. I'll be on the road in only days with my trainer rather then in 3-4 weeks.

Yall are gonna make me say it ain't you. I went with swift. Mainly on pay rate, and the terminal is right next to me house. The additute there is drive and we leave you alone. Which is what I want.

Now as far as tmc, You may love it. Depends on what you are looking for. There pete's are top notch. Absolutely great equipment, and the facilities can't be beat. Most the experienced drivers I talked to moving to them, Liked the structure they had.

Oh, and Remember i said STAY OFF THE GRASS.

It's an instant fire at TMC if they catch you stepping on the grass.

Hey, Swift is a good company. I drove for them back in the day. I liked them. I was offered a job driving for them again. Turned it down because they wanted me to run NE regional, exclusively. I live in SC. What sense does that make?!

As far as TMC, I've heard a lot of horror stories about how they are very military-minded. That's OK with me. I grew up like that. My dad was an MP in Vietnam and my grandfather was in the South Pacific during WWII. The school I went to was run by a man who was in the Army for several years. If I can pass his school, I can handle TMC. Keeping my fingers crossed anyway....

Yup, like I said, I've heard the horror stories. A good friend of mine just got through with their orientation and passed with flying colors. He told me about the grass thing too. If it means me getting a good job, I have no issues with using their sidewalks. That's what they're there for anyway, right? :)

    Gears Thanks this.
