Heard Spring it will pick up.
Then summer is building season, wait till then.

Meanwhile I got better rates in the winter time when supposedly flatbed is dead.

    Explain.

You already know. Open deck does good when the economy does good. If the economy is not thriving….open deck will lag. Truth is your deck isn’t needed. When homes get built and plants expand they will want your trailer again like there’s no tomorrow. In a bad economy, normal seasonal trends can get all out of shape. Want stability pull a new reefer. Don’t like reefer, deal with what you got. Dry van…that’s for the megas and their students.

Yep, current freight market shows just how little confidence there is in the economy. Id like to say it will only be teeth grinding until spring now, but next year is an election year and thats always a crap shoot. Could be another year and a half now.

Still over capacity in the market, many companies hanging on, losing money hoping like you things will turn around. Don’t hold your breath.

    Yeah the economy sucks.
I've talked to other reefer drivers and seen rates, nothing good there either.

I know at my company everybody that had a van either quit or switched to flatbed, owner told me this.

Going to shippers I've been seeing more and more drivers that aren't securing properly and/or struggling to tarp.

People have flooded the flatbed market even with no experience hoping to earn a few more pennies per mile.
