I was looking at the second skin web site and they have a paste type product you apply with a trowel. I ordered some with the sound mat so I had something to get the hard to reach places. I also thought it would be easy to do the firewall and engine box with it. Its much cheaper then lizard skin and you dont have to use two products for the same effect.
Got to hit the road for awhile so wont be able to get all this installed for awhile but will post my results when I get them.

    Update-
Well I finally got sound deadening material put in and after alot of research and price shopping I ended up trying a product sold by a upholstry supply company called Perfect Fit in portland ore. The stuff was a very tight weave fiberglass material with a foil backing. Under that I put a roofing product called ice guard from the home depot. It has a sticky back and no smell. Got to say I am into a fraction of what dynamat or something like that would of been and the results are even better then I could of thought.
Cant remember the name of the sound material I got at perfect fit but its the only sound deadening product on there website. It was 11 bucks a yard and pretty easy to install. Hope this helps anyone out there looking for a really good cheap alternative to dynamat or such. Next is completely redoing my sleeper the same way.

I bought several sheets of foam insulation backed on both side with a silver mylar film It was from a generator companies excess inventory... I bought 4X8 sheets at an auto swap meet for 410.00 each.

My son used this stuff on his '06 379 and it has worked quite well.

I always out a 2" foam board under my mattress to keep out the heat and cold and it also makes the truck quieter.

Yes it is. Very cheap and works really well. The biggest think was its hard to cut because of the weave of material.

i have heard of people using the home depot ice gaurd in cars--and they got a smell--some did some didnt---i think the smell comes if you use it in a high heat area--like otransmission tunnel in a car---i think most places in a truck it would work ok

    UPDATE
Got frustrated with the noise and decided to do something. Cleaned the underside of my floor, and used contact adhesive to attach the 1" neoprene sponge. Time constraints, so only did the large area, between the seats, forget the actual measurements, something like 22"x28". Made a TREMENDOUS difference on that roaring noise! Don't have a decible meter, but I usually have volume on my music radio on #14, going to 18 when I would want to "crank it up" - now listen at #8-10, going to 14 for the "good songs". Can't wait to do the rest of the floor.
