Proposal:
Note: The truck isn't mine so i can't make it permanent.
Put dynamat down and then put quickroof or peal-n-seal on top; The weight should keep the dynamat in place?
Then put HEAVY carpet on top of all this?
That would be "stage 1."

The way dynamat works is it has to be sealed tight to the floor. If you want it removable you'd be better off with another product. I put dynamat in my Pete years ago and it reduced noise by 10 dbs. Plus it got rid of the buzzing from my sub woofer.

Go to Harbour Supply and look at their EZ Cool insulation. Pretty inexpensive. Bought a 4 foot by 120 foot roll for $225 I think. Haven't gotten a chance to put it in yet though, but can't wait. I think its really going to make a big difference. Looks really easy to install once you get all the stuff out of the way!

I've insulated two of my cars - firewall and the windows were untouched, otherwise - everything else was done - contact me if you want more in datailed info, anyway: I've taken all of the carpet, headliner, seats, door pannels and anything else that was covering bare metal and did the following: cleaned it with good degreaser/paint thiner, applied sound DEADENING material( butul rubber with thich foil backing) used really good foil tape to make sure the deadening material is sealed-in between itself, in other words: when one sheet is laid next to another I wanted to make sure there was no exposed metal. Then, cleaned the foil side with the same degreaser/thinner and have applied open and closed cell foam, dependant on the location. Doors: cleaned the metal panels, and sprayed on the sound DEADENING material 3 times - for the better/good results. Now, you do not, and I repeat, you do not want to use any foam inside the door due to the water. Water will get inside the door via the glass and that foam will start smelling after a while and you'll have mold and other BAD things.
The result: can you say coffin? yeah!!! DEAD quite. Now. noise that will come through the windows are not escapable unless the engine is off and the vehicle/truck is parked. When its raining: no sound in the car for the exceptions of the windows letting some in. Now: weight - I would say about 100-150 for the Murano - crossover. Will post pics of the whole job, when available or if you guys want me to.josh.c Thanks this. -
Magnum, I'd love to see the pictures when you get them. Put 'em up, I say.
