I think that too and then I see these six and seven axle liquid trucks in the oil field and I’m wondering what’s up with that?
Sounds fishy...?

The CHP likes to keep an eye on the routes going around the scale and they have alot of portable scales set up around the ports. This sounds like a shady outfit.
BigRam90 Thanks this. -
Edit: You must also buy their extended weight permit as well so you can legally gross the higher weight.Long FLD, BigRam90 and Rubber duck kw Thank this. -
Loaded in Canada, there was a scale close to the shipper, they wanted $18 , being cheap, I went to the Cat scale, after getting back into US, Over Gross, call dispatch, was told to get it legal. Easier said than done.

You'll get busted a few times,
Then either quit or be fired,
Then they'll find another sucker.
They been doing it that way for 15 years.
She told you that herself.Last edited: Apr 1, 2020

Not sure about Oakland but in Long Beach, CA there is an overweight corridor for a few miles that allows over weight containers to be moved to a transload facility. I bring overweight containers of tile in every month. They are transloaded on to a flatbed for delivery to Phoenix. Lightweight truck with aluminum Flatbed can haul just under 52,000 lbs.

Sure no problem - Tell her to put all that in writing and have her and the safety director sign it.
