I think that it’s funny that the “R” guy you speak of, by his own admission, thinks that maintenance intervals should be done based on fuel consumption. He brags about getting 7 to 8 mpg then overhauled his red POS before it hit the million mile mark. Us Cat guys be like “you only burn how many gallons of fuel between overhauls?” LMAO!

I did a ELOG, EGR, DPF, SCR, red POS delete on my 2014 389 last year. Only has 80,000 and change on the clock so far. I’m hoping for one inframe before I retire after this. 55AFA59C-6463-46C6-95C6-2809B034851E.jpeg 31202587-06A8-4CCA-80F6-9D8DDD426FC2.jpeg 4492E01C-8307-4831-9541-036AC3DD4CDF.jpeg 1093079F-9549-473D-92F6-B17C924BD406.jpeg

My mechanic used a schematic that he acquired for my truck, bought a 120 pin cat ECM plug and wired it up. He said that his brain was smoking a little for a day. He forgot to wire my ambient temperature gauge because the Cat engine doesn’t require that information ignoring the fact that I would still like to read ambient temperature on my dashboard. He says that he’ll fix it someday….it’s been almost a year now and he hasn’t gotten around to it yet.

OAT will need to be disabled in the CECU or switched from Engine message to "Sensor". Once that parameter change is made you will then need to go into the dash panel just above the key switch. There are 2 plug ins labeled OAT, one has the sensor plugged into and the other has nothing plugged into it, "switch them" and your outside air temp gauge will then work.

    Bump
For anyone that cares, these plugs weren’t above the key switch they were above the steering column closer to the firewall. I didn’t have to change any parameters to get the gauge on the dashboard to work. The gauge on the smartnav still doesn’t work but next time I have a laptop plugged into my cecu, I’ll look to change the parameter to see if that fixes it. Thanks again!!!
