I am glad your truck is getting the fuel mileage you where hoping for. I know you said that you could gross more with a condo than a mid roof at Maverick. Now that you have a couple weeks under your belt is things starting to go your way? Do you like it at Prime or do you like Maverick better?

So far things are going good here. Im staying relatively busy, proof of that being Im running a recap this week lol. The loads have paid well. With Maverick I was driving one rare truck,a blue t600 kw with a cat motor. So my mpg was like 6-6.5 versus now Im getting 8+ and the last couple loads Ive averaged 9mpg (light loads). Also at Maverick I was paid a flat $20 to tarp here Im paid $50 or what the customer pays whichever is greater. Maverick had this mindset that tarp pay from the customer was somehow theirs even though I bought my own equipment. So thats a big plus in my book. Maverick is a good company, all companys have bad points but I would recommend either right now. If things continue to go well here I may recommend Prime more for those interested in lease (after you have experience) but for company drivers I think Maverick still wins due to more regular hometime bigger trucks for company drivers versus Primes lightweights and pretty decent pay and company drivers are issued equipment versus Primes company guys buying equipment (although I see Primes rational behind that policy).

Headed to Lubbock Tx this weekend. Gives me about $4k gross with one day left before payroll cutoff

My average has been $1.61 for all miles this week so far. I had one low paying load that dragged my average down a bit.

Sounds good keep it up

Hope your fuel mileage stays up and you get good miles.

Talked to recruiter from Prime the other day and she acted like I was interrupting her or something when I asked about Roanoke Va. area hiring she gave me a smart remark like well it is not local. I told her I knew that and she got an attitude so I got off the phone.
Maybe one day I will be a lease operator or owner operator but all I have done is a 5 state radius of Va. so I would like to get a little more experience in more states. The company I work at now is sending me to more places like northeast and down south so maybe I can get the otr experience and then I might look into Prime more. -
Well popcorn169 sounds like her attitude sucked I agree getting more experience as far as diff states go is a good idea
popcorn169 Thanks this.
