South Florida dump truck work?

    I am kicking around the idea of buying a tri axle dump truck to work in south Florida. I don't have my cdl yet, but will be getting it real soon. I plan on putting my father to drive for the time being. He has basically every endorsement available, and has been driving for over 30 years. My question is, is it even worth investing in this business now? What could a truck expect to bring in on a weekly basis? And how hard is it to find work? Thank you in advance for any information.

    In south Florida, seems most dumps are out of Medley or Hialeah. Looks like all Spanish speaking drivers and dispatchers (no disrespect intended!). Some of the worst junk tri-axle trucks I've ever seen. Most look like former OTR tractors converted to tri-axle, some even have the sleeper still attached. I have no idea of the rates, but you hardly ever see a properly set up tri-axle compared to other places I've been to. Where I'm from tri-axles are usually set up with 20k front floats, 40-46k rears, with a 20k pusher. I have no info about other areas of Florida. I think an exploratory trip might be a good investment of your time. Good luck.

    Sunbelt Cypress does some dump combination truck (probably not calling it right name but dump truck semi trucks) for USG and Gypsum near Jacksonville.. I know not totally relevant but that's as much as I know about dumps I flordia
