Based on all considerations (pay, work rules, attitudes) I'd go:
Old Dominion
Southeastern
ABF
UPSF
Conway
Fedex Freight
FedEx Ground
Southeastern Freight Lines ... Anyone?

good luck.....ATL is a good freight town. Be prepared to do some dock work though.
-
Fedex Ground is a owner operator company and independent contractors.

Did my time with saia(p&d). Too micromanaged. 22hr with overtime after 45 hours. Expect arrogant coworkers and management.
-
does sefl pay overtime?
-
Nope. They do not. All hours worked...including hours above 40/week...are paid at your standard hourly rate.DFREEMAN Thanks this.
-
not even after 50 hours? they must start off pretty good. Talked to a local driver and he said 23.00 an hour
-
I know OD start around $23 ..OT after 60......and holland aroun $17..OT after 40
-
when I hired on, they said no OT pay...regardless of hours worked. I started at $21.75/hr. In my area...ABF is the only trucking company that I've seen that does OT above 40 hours.
my $.02...the turnover is very low. Granted I have been with SEFL for long, but most people seem to agree that it's a good place to work.DFREEMAN, snowman1980 and Shaggy Thank this.
