Applied for a P&D driver position in Atlanta a couple weeks ago... just got a screening call yesterday. Man seemed pretty pleased. I am currently a P&D driver at Fastenal with about 1.5 years experience and a clean, safe record. He said he was going to get the background check going and call me back either this week or beginning of next week. I feel good about it...

I took my written test and did the driving test as well yesterday...was offered a job this morning. Gave two week notice to my current employer, and they said thank you for the notice, you can go now if you want, and we will keep a place for you here if it doesn't work. So, I will be starting SEFL next week. My family and I are very excited.

Does anyone recall if your health insurance kicks in day one of employment.

Nvm. Found out its 30 days in. So far so good for the new job. Started this past Tuesday, rode along a couple days and started driving with a rider for a couple days. Same next week, then off to orientation in Dallas the following week. When I get back, I will be assigned a truck and on my own. I already recieved my route assignment. 90 days on that route with an evaluation at 30, 60, & 90 days. Also, just had a grand opening at a brand new terminal. Went from 31 doors to a facility built for our demand and a total of 63 doors; lots of room to grow. Again, great company so far. No complaints.

Yes....spent last week in Dallas for orientation. Paid me mileage and hourly to drive down and back, paid me hourly during "class," and paid me per diem daily.
Started running my own route yesterday and working the dock. I'm definitely earning this great pay. Spend a lot of hours on my feet and with a sense of urgency. But, I knew that signing up. Overall, very pleased with the job change. SEFL says what they mean and mean what they say123456 Thanks this. -
I applied yesterday. What was the time frame to get a call back? Or did you call them?
-
It was at least a week, more like two. I had written them off. A phone call won't help I don't think. App goes to corporate and the terminal closest to you doesn't get the app unless you pass prequalifications. Good luck to you. Let us know how it goes.
