Not all loads are night delivery, we don't do exclusively meat products some are frozen from Dole or Dry from Heinz or Chemicals and the list goes on and on. Some customers ship and recieve on a 24 hour dock. This type of trucking is not for people who want to go to bed early and have a regular schedule. It is very demanding at times and sometimes the only people I see out at 2 am are Fed Ex and UPS Lines haul trucks. On the flip side less traffic in major cities...at night.

Say you have a load going to City of Industry California ( dry ) from Chicago the appt is 0800am How do you get into LA and be on time? You run in at 4 am park rest get unloaded, then find a parking area and take a TEN . It's best to make plans to get in and out during a 14 on-duty cycle. Sometime Ontario Ca is the only place to park and at ten am it is usually more than half empty,

thanks, central refrigerated is now out of the picture, going thru there recent threads in the favorite section, there averaging 50 hires perweek, they only have 1800 tractors, to high of a turn over rate for that size, so its swift in april, more drop and hook, less and less companys to choose from meaning which trucking companys that will go under before year end

Sometimes I feel so tired, I know it's time to stop driving. I am talking about the days when the mind play tricks on you. One time I was staring at the road and had both hands on the wheel, cruise control off, top gear doing 65 mph in the right lane. I WAKE UP! Pull quickly to the right to get back in my lane because my truck is crossing the zipper and half way in the hammer lane (thank heaven I did not hit something in the Hammer Lane ). It's that moment when I am dozing that the Guardian Angel taps me on my shoulder and says, hey its time to pull over..........

Popmartian has left SRT and is currently seeking employment with Non-Regulated Non-Sensitive DOT free employment in the private sector. NO MORE LOGS, NO MORE DOT INSPECTIONS and NO MORE DOT PHYSICALS to worry about.

    FREEDOM has come at last!

I am so excited to have finally said " I RESIGN". It went well! My former employer(SRT) and I have ended out professional relationship, but have remained mutual friends. I ordered my DAC from Hire-Right (formerly USIS ) and everything is good and have 4 years of good employment history and hard effort to use on my resume.

The journey was long and hard, the experience will last a lifetime. I am greatful for the oppurtunity to run all over the USA. I have taken thousands of pics of this wonderful land we call America. One last note: this is not the end, but the beginning, a fresh start, to boldly step out in a new pair of boots.

    GOD BLESS THE USA!

So what your saying here is that running illegal sometimes has to happen regardless of condition in order to provide service to SRTs customers. :biggrin_25524:
