Parked for the night at a truck stop on the west side of Oklahoma City last Wednesday. In the back row down from the truck shop.
Thursday later in the day I noticed my spare was gone out of the tire carrier under the trailer. It had been chained in the carrier.
The only time when it could have been taken was at the truck stop.
I guess that's one way to cut down on expenses. Don't buy tires steal them.

Probably some crack head needing a fix...
truckon, rabbiporkchop and mhyn Thank this. -
I know you said it was chained, but Im guessing you didn't have a lock on it?

I had my spare steel wheel +tire taken nearby but they forgot to ck. it, they stole a sidewall repaired recap on a wheel that had run off a trailer at hi speed with broken lug studs!
truckon and taxihacker66 Thank this. -
No lock. When I put another one on it will have a lock. I can see issues with getting a lock off in the winter with it froze up. Have to make sure I have a lighter or something to thaw it out.
Either that or I'll stick one in there that has a bad balance issue and hope someone gets it before I need it.taxihacker66 Thanks this. -
This was the first time I have had a problem. I seldom lock my truck boxes or the boxes on my flatbed when pulling it.
Well, Thursday night my truck boxes were locked and when I pull the flatbed the boxes on it will be locked too.
I would have given the tire to someone if they were in need of it but stealing it..........if they still tied people like that to a post and whipped them it would be deserved. It would probably cut down on stealing as well. -
Enough to turn a man mean, ain't it. First they steal yer spare, then they'll come back for yer fuel, then yer wife, yer dog, yer boots.....where does it all end?
FinkPloyd, positiveone, Pullin2 and 2 others Thank this. -
Believe it or not. But I caught a road side service truck at a truck stop trying to steal the spare tire off of my cat walk. In the back row. So that's probably what happen. It does happen

my trailer was opened twice in Georgia when I was parked on last row. locks were cut by bolt cutter I guess but they did not take product because it was not finished good.

Wouldn't call it mean. I'd call it just. Deserved. Even earned.
When I was a kid and my dad told me by word and by example not to take something that wasn't mine I listened. Not to obey had consequences. He was not being mean. If I had stolen I would have earned the punishment.
Same here. If crime had more severe consequences there would be less crime.
If the tire thief had been caught the punishment would have been little to none. Very little to lose to be the thief.
In this case he also had very little to gain. Stealing a used tire.mhyn and mountaingote Thank this.
