Interesting question, I don't see them faxing the paperwork either. What flashed through my mind was when I went through orientation with Schneider (6 years ago) one paper I had to sign was that I understand that the cruise control is not an auto pilot. Makes you wonder how that came to be.

Ah...I didn't know you were a pumpkin graduate.

Yikes...an "auto pilot" clause? What this means is that a some point, someone had a horrible accident of some sort, while leaving the drivers seat for a second or two with the cruise control engaged.

It's like those warning labels that you read on products, like one that I read on a disposable toilet brush..."Do not use for oral hygiene", and you know that this was added at some point because someone, somewhere actually did it.

"Yikes...an autopilot clause" is right.

A certain frivolous lawsuit comes to mind where some idiot with a Winnebago set his/her cruise control, and then went to make a pot of coffee!!!

The aforementioned idiot then had the collossal gall to sue Winnebago.

The disturbing thing is, I think he/she won.

Wish I'd seen this in March, BEFORE I decided to train with England. :( Fortunately, I said "skip this" after 2 weeks of sharing a classroom with 14 others, half of whom I swear had a collective IQ of about 100.

Sounds like someone needs to call his state attorney general's office.

A few years ago I aplied with CR England and they hired me. I had to take the dreaded Grey Hound Bus ride to a terminal up in New Jersy I think been several years ago.
I got off the bus and got into a cab, that took me to the terminal. I went inside found out that they had bunk beds set up at the terminal for us new hiree's  I talked to one company driver who happened to be there and he told me that this was a joke! That I would not pass there driving test, and would be considered only after I went to there school out west somewhere for 3 weeks or so.
    Well guess what?

I called the same cab driver back up...........might have been 45 minute's later, and told him to come and get me.
I arrived at the bus station bought a ticket home and got on the same bus I just arrived on.

Never ever heard from them either. Boy am I glad I had some extra money with me that time.

I had to pull the same thing.....three times.

Once for Southern Transport. Once for PT Transport. Once for Trism.

All three were the same. Each promised me things I didn't find after I arrived. In all three cases, I left after a day or two of orientation. The greyhound ride from Joplin, MO to Salt Lake City was a long one.

TT, I see you do know about C.R. England in Salt Lake City. Worst company around, at least since Simon was bought out. I don't have to tell you that, though. The turnover stats tell that for me.

But the England story gets better. Take a gander at some of the testimonies out on the web from owner operators who've leased on to these unscrupulous characters. One of my favorites is the story about the O/O who worked for CRE for about 8 months, drove probably 85,000 miles, and got paid ZERO for his trouble.

I wonder if someday, someday, C.R. England is going to piss off the wrong driver who then gets his revenge....as in "he took an AK-47 to the whole crooked family" that runs that outfit. It'd be good riddance, that IS for sure. It'd also be absolutely NO surprise.

When Simon was bought out by swift ole stinky Richard got his revenge by puting on a few drivers that I think he found at a mental institution.
One tried to drive his truck through the state house in Sacramento and another one tried to plow through the building of a scale house and the word was both were off their meds...
