I dont get why everyone seems to prefer ratchet binders... Ive always prefered good old snap binders. Faster, lighter, easier, less maintenance required, last longer, less expensive. The only downside... One must be smart enough to keep thier head out of the way when using them.

I prefer a mix myself, 6 ratcheting is all i bother to carry now, thats enough for 1 forward, 1 back x 3 machines, then kitty corner the snaps, coils is all 6 ratchets

THESE are the bees knees for snaps though

I agree, in fact I was just talking with one of my customers about this today. He looked at the snap binders on my load and said, “I’m surprised they let you guys use those, we aren’t allowed to use them.” Apparently enough idiots hurt themselves that they had to ban them... LOL

I don’t know what kind of person would be dumb enough to put their face in front of a snap binder when they pop it open, but I guess it’s a more common occurrence than I thought.

Can get it way tighter with a ratchet.

I came up with this. Allows me to lube them and close them in seconds.

Snaps are definitely quicker, especially if you're hauling something that settles after a few miles.

I agree.. although for me it's not always about speed and getting things done the fastest.. Snap binders can cause things to shift sideways because u are putting that tightening power all at once where as with a ratchet you can get it snug then go tighten the opposite side, then repeat as many times until it's tight
