if it works. then why not ask the other drivers how they are doing it.

me personally. i'd think that any kind of wire rigging would burn up the ecm. and possibly sensors too. specially since the ecm reads 5 volts from the various sensors and you want to ihook it up to 14 volts from the alternator.

you don't have a location but i'm guessing your in canada. might do yourself a favor and keep out of trouble. let the other guys get busted.

when i got my truck. it was a previous swift truck. which means password protected.
i took it to cummins. told them the truck was mine and not company anymore. they charged me $140 to zap the password and reset the computer to o/o specs. took a whole 15 minutes.

I drive for swift, where did you get this swift truck from?? Is it a volvo?? If yes, from my understanding that password protector doesn't control the govern speed or rpms. I know this from asking a mechanic who use to work for swift, he said he only knew of hooking the computer up to change speed rpms etc etc.

the password doesn't control the computer. it prevents the computer from being changed.

if someone wants to change the parameters that swift has stored. they have to know the password.

the truck was being purchased through the company i worked for at that time. they are no longer in business. and last i heard, the truck was sitting in the wrecking yard. thanks to the mechanics blowing up the engine.

it was an 05 w9. cummins did a zap. and reflashed the computer.

The Diesel Dr. flashes your ECM. Been there, done that. No wire jumper. Shoot, they don't even hook wires up to your truck. Just plug a remote into your diagnostic port and do their thing.

I met a guy once who claimed to have 2 ECM's in his truck. He could switch to the 100 one or the wide open one. He said the only problem was he could only switch them when the truck was shut off. I really don't know if he was pulling my leg, or if it is possible. I just know that I asked him that in Ontario, after he passed me going way over 110k.

I used to just unplug the wheel speed sensor on a 2007 Volvo. Truck couldn't govern itself not knowing how fast it was going.
