If all fails, maybe unplug the speed sensor from the transmission, use a gps to see your speed. It might work????
what company was the truck from...they all have patterns involving a word (numericly and part of the vin)
Bought it from a guy in AZ who specializes in used fleet trucks...I called him, he was unable to help...=(
cummins has software that will zap the password and reflash the computer. cost $140 but puts everything to o/o specs. that means wide open on all parameters. no need for PDI. i did it on a truck i was once buying from a company i was working for. the truck was originally swift. with isx motor
Thank you snowy, Spoke to Cummins Rocky Mountain, they said $99 to zap it, and another $125 to set new speed limits....but...they are a week out for service!!! YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!
That's pretty said Rocky Mountain can't get you through a quick lane. How long does it takes to hook up to a computer? Jeesh. I'd ask to speak to someone else and complain.
i was in dallas delivering a load. i hit up the cummins first thing when they opened before delivering my load. no appt. got me in and out in 30 minutes. i didn't have no governors set. i did a straight zap and reflash. ended up with more horses and .75 better fuel mileage. best money i spent for power and mileage.
