    So the wife is going to sit at home, do your dirty work on the load boards, eh? Because if you want the brokers cut, she'll need to have that brokers license, and she won't be sitting at home.

    And by the way... ask those boys at the business management class about containing costs. Here's a little quiz for you. How much difference is there to your bottom line between say 8 mpg and 6 mpg over the course of a 150,000-mile year at $4/gallon?

    You might want to ponder that a bit since fuel is your largest controllable expense as an owner-operator.

    Yea we know the dirty filthy migraine that will come with it...but one thing I can assure you is that no one except lottery winners got rich or where they at with out trying or going through hard times or struggle. ..

    companies put miles miles miles in your head...but the thing is if u play your hand right u wont have to run like that...its a huge difference in mpg...but the stuff I haul I dont get good mpg any way...fuel is your biggest expense but include that in your rate and it really wont hurt your pocket...

    we working on getting bonded right now...we already have the dva and tax id #...just a bond and a trailer and we good to go

    Really? Well then you'll be happy to know that folks with really poor fuel mileage (non-aerodynamic loads or not) get even a bigger savings by merely slowing down. You plan on being a businessman? Then you need to start thinking like one, and not just be another bonehead company driver pretending to own a truck for awhile.

    You do realize that you could get the same rate, run the same miles every week, and take home a bigger paycheck? Or is that to much for you to fathom?

    I dont check for fuel mileage. ..alot might care about it but I personally dont care...now if I start burning a half of tank in 2p0 milrs ill check into it...but im going to run rum run until then...what works for yall dosent work for me...and trust me I have plenty of stuff to do then feed you wolf ticket about owning a truck...I have to have a truck. ..I couldn't survive being a company driver. ..

    Call any big company. ..ask them for a rate estimate...tell me what they charge to move a 40000 lb 48 ft of space 8 ft wide in the trailer on a 1500 mile trip....then come back and ask me that question
